My Nativity Scene

7.5" Fontanini (1990's)
I started my Fontanini Nativity collection in the early 1990's.  I bought the creche which included Mary, Jesus, Joseph, an angel, donkey and a shepherd with bagpipes at the end of the season sale at 75% off. Every year after, my parents would give me another piece.  One year, I even got a repeat so I have twin 'Daniels' with a horn (clarinet).  I have more than twenty figures, five of which are musicians. I also have several animals including the cow, donkey, some sheep, a goat, and a dog!

I love to rearrange them and I'm not afraid of them getting broken.  That's the reason I went with the Fontanini - they are made of resin and have earthly tones.  Nativities should be played with!

It has been five days.  The grieving process has begun for myself and many around me.  It's a  beast this thing called grief.  It attaches to or attacks each of us differently.  When my mother lost my sister Barb, she named her grief George.  I think I too will have a name for my grief.  I've been thinking about Clarence.  I always loved the character Clarence Odbody.    He was only doing what was right and tried to have a little fun along the way.  He kept things simple.  I like simple.  I won't mind if Clarence hangs around awhile. Responsible

Responsible: having an obligation to do something, or having control over or care for someone, as part of one's job or role. I am responsible for many things whether I am at work or at home.  I don't always like it.  Sometimes, I do not want to be responsible.  I want to slack off or not care or just be the opposite of responsible.

Vaccine Day!

Today I was able to get my 1st dose of the Pfizer - Covid 19 vaccine. Our county vaccinated 8,000 teachers in two days! It was very well run. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes including the 15 minute wait afterwards. It's been about five hours since and my arm is a bit sore now. I can't remember the last time I got a vaccine. Probably a tetnus shot. --- Those really hurt. Anyway, I'm glad to do my part to get this pandemic under control. As I look at my calorie tracker for the day: 1750 calories food and 59 oz. water.
