Replenish Me

So I've been at the lake for about 36 hours and the more time that passes the better I feel.  I don't know if it's baby Hayden, or 2 year old Skylar, or sharing with Justine.  I feel useful and I hurt less each day.  The wound from my incision is a bit angry with me.  I went to school Thursday without socks ... in the boot...the sweat and irritation caused most of the scab to come off.  It is angry and painful.  Even with that, I feel calm.

I think it's the lake.  The water calms me.  I look out when I feel overwhelmed and it's ... just there... moving...flowing...free.  I love the water.  I have always been drawn to it...and I'm not a swimmer!  But I don't drown.

Perhaps that's life...It's free, flowing, calm, and exciting... living.  When I was younger, I thought of life as a roller coaster...I love rollercoasters!

It has been five days.  The grieving process has begun for myself and many around me.  It's a  beast this thing called grief.  It attaches to or attacks each of us differently.  When my mother lost my sister Barb, she named her grief George.  I think I too will have a name for my grief.  I've been thinking about Clarence.  I always loved the character Clarence Odbody.    He was only doing what was right and tried to have a little fun along the way.  He kept things simple.  I like simple.  I won't mind if Clarence hangs around awhile. Responsible

Responsible: having an obligation to do something, or having control over or care for someone, as part of one's job or role. I am responsible for many things whether I am at work or at home.  I don't always like it.  Sometimes, I do not want to be responsible.  I want to slack off or not care or just be the opposite of responsible.

Vaccine Day!

Today I was able to get my 1st dose of the Pfizer - Covid 19 vaccine. Our county vaccinated 8,000 teachers in two days! It was very well run. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes including the 15 minute wait afterwards. It's been about five hours since and my arm is a bit sore now. I can't remember the last time I got a vaccine. Probably a tetnus shot. --- Those really hurt. Anyway, I'm glad to do my part to get this pandemic under control. As I look at my calorie tracker for the day: 1750 calories food and 59 oz. water.
